This helmet has breathing hose with visor to be connected to fan equipped with filters. Particulate matter and other pollutants are prevented from entering the breathing zone by the pressure generated in the visor.

Along with the SR 700 fan and approved filters or the battery-powered SR 500, SR 500 EX, this SR 580 helmet is included in Sundström's fan-assisted respirator systems.
The SR 580 helmet can be used with SR 507 compressed air equipment. Together they form a respirator that provides a continuous air flow for connection to compressed air supply.
This equipment can be used as an alternative to filter respirators in all situations where filter respirators are recommended. This especially applies to work that is hot, hard or of longer duration.
